Tuesday Tidbits

Another crazy week here in reader land. The girls are loving school and we have started to make some sort of a routine (I think.) The house renovation has been stalled because of a back order item we didn't know about (long irritating story.) And a quick trip to Tennessee for a sweet little girl's birthday!

So for Emma's best friend's birthday we took a trip to the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga.

It was so much fun to surprise Sunshine for her birthday!
I love that little girl like my own. I'm so glad we got to help her celebrate her birthday!

The kids enjoyed playing in the water outside the aquarium.

This is a pic of the kids with a huge turtle shell. I was able to get Sunshine's brother Tristan in a picture!

Time with friends is always too short. But I am so blessed to be able to travel to see them on a somewhat regular basis. I also was able to see most of my family this trip which is a blessing.

Now on to BOOKS!

Just started Lynette Eason's new book

A Heart Most Certain by Melissa Jagears

A Fresh Voice in Historical Romance!
While Lydia King's reasons for joining the Teaville Moral Society might be suspect to some members, her heart is in the right place. Because of her father's debts and her mother's persistent illness, her best chance at a secure future and curing her mother is to impress the politician courting her. Her first task--to ask the town's wealthiest man to donate--seems simple enough . . . until he refuses.

Despite appearances, Nicholas Lowe wants to help others, but prefers to keep his charity private. When Lydia proves persistent, they agree to a bargain, but Nicholas still intends to do things his own way. Neither predicts what they'll learn about true charity or foresee the complications their actions will bring to the town, forcing Lydia to decide where her beliefs and heart truly align.

Family Christian Stores Review and GIVEAWAY!!!

I was selected to do a review of my shopping experience with Family Christian Stores. To assist me with my review, I was given a 25 dollar coupon to do some shopping.
Family Christian is a Christian retailer, operating in 250 stores across the country. They are committed to helping you find, grow, share and celebrate your faith through a wide selection of Christian books, music, Bibles, DVD's gifts and more. When you shop with Family Christian, your purchases support their efforts to unite with ministries that are helping children and families in need around the world.

To start my shopping I went online (we do not have a Family Christian Store nearby) and started browsing. I had in mind at least one item I wanted, so my first stop on the website was to search for that item. The search engine on the site is easy to use and works well. After finding my book I wanted (Kristy Cambron's latest The Ring Master's Wife) I decide to try to find another book or movie to take advantage of their Buy 1 get 1 50% off sale they were having.
I can't remember what I picked but I found another book to buy and added something else to make my total over 25 dollars. I then proceeded to try to check out. That is where the frustration began. Because of a glitch with the coupon I was not able to use my coupon and get the buy1 get 1 at the same time. When I tried to call customer service I couldn't get thru. I also emailed them and it took them 2 days to email me back. However, when they did email me back they were very kind and offered to help me in any way they could. I had already placed my order though, by the time they responded to my email, so it was to late to change anything.  Because of the glitch I ended up ordering the book I wanted, a set of Bible highlighters for studying and a book mark. This went smoothly since I was not using the buy1 get 1 and my order was processed quickly and shipped very fast. I received my order within a week and it was complete and packaged very well.

Overall the shopping experience was not all bad and the items I received met expectations. I am going to offer some words of advice on how to use your coupon should you win the giveaway.

1. If you have a Family Christian store nearby, use it. The coupon will work properly in stores.

2. If you do not have a store nearby, find the items you want online and then call the customer service number to place your order. The coupon will work with the sale if you call them.
Be advised the coupon will only cover the price of the items purchased. They must equal at least 25 dollars (pre tax) and it does not cover shipping.

Follow this advice and you should have a very pleasant shopping experience!

Be sure to take advantage of their buy1 get 1 sale. They also have lots of sale and clearance items.

Accu-Gel Bible Highlighter Study Kit (Pack of 6)
The Ringmaster's Wife
Cupcakes and Jesus Be Yourself Bookmark
These are the items I bought. I can't wait to read the book!

Needless to say my plate is full!

A picture of the kitchen remodel.

Love Birds by Amy Clipston

While Ellie Lapp and her mother are still mourning the loss of her brother, Seth, Ellie starts working at one of the gift shops in town. Seth’s friend Lloyd is talented at carving wooden birds, but his father disapproves and expects him to take over the family farm someday. A Bid for Love by Kathleen Fuller

Every week, Hannah Lynne brings her home-churned butter to the local market. And every week Ezra stops by to purchase some. Hannah Lynne knows not to read too much into it—Ezra is a confirmed bachelor and barely even glances her way, despite any hope to the contrary. But when Ezra bids an exorbitant amount to win the quilt she had her heart set on, Hannah Lynne can’t stop her heart from taking over her mind. Could Ezra finally be in the market for love?

Sweeter Than Honey by Kelly Irvin

Shattering a jar of pickled beets wasn’t the impression Isabella hoped to make on her first trip to the local Combination Store of Bee County, Texas. But as embarrassed as she was by the accident, she didn’t think it warranted the frosty reaction from the handsome manager of the store, Will Glick. As she soon learns, though, Will’s heart has been broken one too many times. And now, for some reason, Isabella finds herself determined to be the one to repair that broken heart and renew his faith in love.

Love in Store by Vannetta Chapman

Stella Schrock works at the Old Mill in Nappanee, Indiana, with new employee David Stoltzfus, a recent widower. When strange happenings begin occurring around town, it appears as if someone wants to close the mill. Stella and David have to work together to solve the mystery of what is happening at the Old Amish Mill, and in the process they might just find that God has more in store for their future than they would ever have dreamed possible.
